UCR NetID Key Information

UCR NetID

What is UCR NetID?

UCR NetID is a unique identifier for each employee, faculty, or student connected with UCR. This unique ID enables authentication of the user, and the granting or authorization for essential system access. The combination of authentication and authorization enable single sign-on capabilities and incorporation into a portal environment (e.g. iViews for Administrative Applications).

UCR's NetID is one of two components that form the foundation of UCR's Identity Management systems and processes. For more information regarding UCR's Identify Management program, please visit:

http://www.cnc.ucr.edu/iviews/enterprise_dir/identity_management_Sept06.html

The second component of UCR's Identify Management is authorization of system access, which is managed via EACS (Enterprise Access Control System), the campus authorization system.

With the combination of UCR NetID and EACS, UCR can provide a single sign on for systems.
