NotifyLink Availability for Blackberry, iPhone, Palm and Windows Mobile Devices Announced
10/27/09
Computing and Communications has finished evaluating Notify Technologies' program for smartphones called NotifyLink On-Demand service and now is recommending it for campus users to sync their campus e-mail and calendars to their phones. This is an alternative for Treo users whose Chattermail has expired and for BlackBerry users who have the need to sync to the campus systems.
Support for Blackberry Devices
10/27/09
Blackberry devices, such as the Storm or the Curve, now have the ability to synchronize with UCR's e-mail and calendar systems.
To sync the e-mail and the calendar data from your Blackberry, a third-party software application can be purchased and installed on the device. The application and service is from Notify Technologies, and uses their On-Demand technology called NotifyLink for Blackberry. A new email program is installed on your device, creating an easy to use interface; the calendar uses Blackberry's own calendar program.

Support for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices
2/04/09
Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices can now synchronize calendar data with eCalendar@UCR as well as send and receive UCR e-mail.
To send and receive UCR e-mail, the iPhone can use the 3G cellular network or its WiFi to connect to the UCR e-mail server, as well as any other e-mail accounts being used. Simply use the Apple Mail client already installed on the iPhone and iPod Touch for your e-mail. View information and instructions for e-mail on iPhone and iPod Touch.
To sync and check your UCR calendar on your iPhone or iPod Touch, an application from the Apple AppStore can be downloaded directly from your device. The application from Synthesis AG is "Todo+Cal+Sync". View information and instructions for eCalendar sync on iPhone and iPod Touch.

Support for ChatterEmail discontinuing sales May 29,2009
4/20/09
Palm has decided to discontinue sales of the ChatterEmail client for PalmOS devices.
Sales will discontinue effective May 29, 2009 and technical support will discontinue effective August 28, 2009. Palm will continue to support license code inquiries through May 29, 2010.
If you intend to use a PalmOS device and would like to use ChatterEmail, you should purchase a license before the purchase deadline.
In the event that your Palm device needs to be reloaded in the future and have ChatterEmail reinstalled, it needs to be licensed in order to function properly. Palm's systems will respond to these license requests through May 29, 2010. After that date, you will not be able to register a ChatterEmail license, but existing installations should continue to function.
Please see Palm's ChatterEmail page for more information.
