iLearn Update
Support audio enabled foreign language practice and drilling via WIMBA. The pilot will include approximately 450 students in 17 different classes and will take place the latter half of the spring quarter.
Audience Response System
C&C in collaboration with Professor Michael Erickson (Psych 134) has deployed a pilot audience response system. The pilot was underway this spring; participants are quite happy with the results.
SAS Day (Collaboratory)
UCR’s Statistical Collaboratory has partnered with SAS for “SAS Day” May 14. http://sasday.ucr.edu/

Network & Research
C&C is partnering with UCR Library to leverage the campus network to support research with the introduction of Infomine.
NEC PBX
The rollout of the new phone switch was successful (http://www.dial.ucr.edu/).
Network Security
C&C seeks a peer review of our Network Security Plan and IT Strategic Plan, during the summer of 2004.
Wireless
UCR ranked 16th in Intel’s wireless nationwide Survey.

TA Evals/iEvals
Completed upgrade of current TA Evaluation system to allow for faculty and other evaluations to be completed online.
iGrade
Database and mock-ups now exist, with the pilot due out at the end of June 04’.
Credit Card Update
The development of a generic storefront is underway and will enable streamlined deployment across many departments on campus to accept credit cards for goods and services online.
Hershey Update
Workflows are now in production with scanning, placing data into SQL DB, and allowing administration to review and approve student’s intent to register online, all-the-while creating a paperless transaction for UCR Admissions.

Student Info System Data Warehouse
Data warehouse is actively used across campus, with targeted e-mails going out to students by departments.
Summer Session
Matriculating students taking Summer Session courses through UCR Extension can now enroll in their courses through the web.
PAWS TO GROWL
Migration of PAWS to GROWL is underway and will result in the elimination of the need for Edify middleware.

Inception-to-Date Report
Inception-to-Date reports have been processed and made available within UCR’s seamless, web reporting environment. Reports are presented by Prime PI and can only be accessed after authenticating against the UCR Enterprise Directory.
Web Based Travel System
Now in production. The system features end-to-end paperless processing of travel expense reports. Authentic reimbursement checks are now being produced from the system.
PAMIS
UCR’s Proposal and Award Management Information System (PAMIS) is in production. All awards are processed end-to-end through PAMIS in a web-based, paperless fashion.
EACS
The Enterprise Access Control System continues to evolve. EACS now handles authorization to PAMIS, FMS, P&R, and Travel. The system is being modified to maintain Purchasing system authorizations.
PeopleSoft 8
All custom application development has been migrated to version 8. A purchase order has been issued to a consulting firm to assist with data migration from version 6.
MEDIA RESOURCES HIGHLIGHTS |
General Assignment Classrooms
Campus Management has made it a priority to continue funding the renewal and replacement of technology equipment in the classroom. Program funding is extended for an additional 4-years to enable thin clients and single point of control in every GA Classroom.

Sun Initiatives
C&C has entered into a consulting agreement with Sun to review the benefits of N1 (Next Generation) Data Center Architecture.
New Status Page
Anticipated to be in production by May 2004. This system will enable both users and technical staff to view individual service status.
