Getting Started
Before you log on and start downloading music, here are some basic terms and information you should know.

Downloading songs
Download a song: Downloading a song to your computer lets you to play the song at anytime. The song file stays on your computer until you delete it
- Mindawn - All downloads from Mindawn can be stored in any folder.
- iTunes – All downloads from iTunes will be stored in the default folder under iTunes
Purchasing songs: Once you buy a song or album, it will be permanently stored onto your computer. You can transfer the song to any .wma supported portable player or burn it to a CD with Windows Media Player. Buying a song or album will give you the license to the merchandise.
Browser Compatibility
- Mindawn is compatible with any browser with download capabilities.
- iTunes is compatible with any browser with download capabilities.
DRM
Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems help protects the copyright of materials by defining how the content can be used. DRM can be used to control on what devices the protected media can be played or how many times the media can be played. Music downloaded from iTunes and Mindawn will not carry DRM. Portable Audio Devices
Portable Audio Devices
Purchased music files have the ability to be transferred to portable audio players. These portable devices will not be able to play files downloaded from a subscription service.

Hard Drive MP3 Players, e.g. Dell Jukebox, Creative Zen, iPod.

File Formats
- Mindawn - Music purchased from Mindawn will be in either Ogg vorbis or FLAC format.
- iTunes - Music downloads from iTunes will be in MPEG-4 AAC format.
These files can be burned on a CD once you have purchased them.
