Gaining Access


Through the Student Technology Fee program, UCR is offering all students access to widely-used software applications including, but not limited to: SPSS, SAS, Mathematica, ArcGIS, JMP, and MATLAB. Lockdown Browser is also available, which may be required for certain iLearn tests. These software packages are used throughout CHASS, CNAS and the College of Engineering. Students have the ability to download the software to their personal computers, or acquire keys, through a dedicated website.

  1. To access the software, please visit the MySoftware web site.
  2. Enter your UCR Net ID and password in the Central Authentication Services screen
  3. Available software packages will be listed if you are enrolled in at least one class for the current or upcoming quarter.

  4. Choose the version of the software to download to your system. A license key will be emailed to your email address. If you already have the software installed and only need a new license key, click the license key link. (As of January 15th, 2016, the SPSS 23 package is available to students. Students will need to download the new installation package along with a key. Current keys will not work with SPSS 22.) 
    Note: MATLAB software can only be acquired through Mathworks. Obtain a License Key via MySoftware and follow the instructions Matlab for Students.
  5. Follow the download instructions.
