Departmental Requests


Calendar Resource Creation

A resource is a room or item that can be scheduled or checked out by authorized people within a department via the Calendar. Resources created already in Exchange will be moved over when your department moves.  For new resource requests, the department needs to request the creation via email to helpdesk@ucr.edu. Once the resource has been created, assigned delegates maintain the resource.

In the email request to the Helpdesk, please include:

  • If it will be an Office 365 resource
  • The name of the resource
  • The department making the request
  • The names and NetID's for the owners of the resource 

Student Access Accounts

There are instances across campus where employed students require access to Office 365 calendars for the purpose of scheduling meetings, checking schedules, setting aside resources etc. To accommodate this need for student workers, departments should request Student Access Accounts. These accounts are permanently assigned to a department and managed by the department.

Shared Mailbox (E-mail) Accounts

A Shared Email Account is a specific email address that allows multiple people access. The purpose of this type of account can include the following: 1) Outlook calendaring 2) Organizational communication, and 3) other specific department needs.
