Larry Sautter Biography
Larry L. Sautter began his career at the University of California, Riverside in 1981. He worked at UCR for 18 years and was the Associate Vice Chancellor for Computing and Communications at the time of his untimely death in 1999.
Larry was an energetic and effective technologist. Under his leadership, a modern data network, client server computing, and new and improved technical support services were developed and deployed at UCR. Despite these technical successes, Larry is best remembered for his optimism, vision, and wonderful sense of humor.
Larry is greatly missed by those whom knew him well. Nonetheless, his legacy lives on in the vibrant, entrepreneurial, and capable organization he left behind.
