Digital Notebooks for Instruction

iPad Checkout Program for Classroom and Laboratory Instruction

Computing and Communications in conjunction with the Student Technology Fee - Digital Notebook project, has instituted a program whereby Faculty can reserve up to 40 iPads with keyboard cases for their enrolled students to checkout.  These iPads will be used in the classroom to aide in instruction.

  • FlipTurn Keyboard Case, bluetooth enabled

To reserve iPads for your class, simply fill out the online request form with the information required.  Once the course and quantity is confirmed, students enrolled in that course can pick up an iPad from the Watkins computer lab in Watkins Hall 2103 up to 1 hour before the class starts.  


To checkout an iPad go to Watkins Hall 2103 with your UCR R'Card up to 1 hour before class starts.  The maximum checkout period is 3 hours, and the iPad should be returned to Watkins Hall 2103 before the 3 hours expire.  If you have a UCR Laptop checked out, that will have to be returned before checking out an iPad.
