Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware @ UCR

UCR provides anti-virus software from Sophos, which also now includes anti-spyware protection.  C&C suggests using an additional anti-spyware package in conjunction with Sophos and recommends Windows Defender from Microsoft. The campus has purchased a site license for Sophos and it is available at no cost to all staff, faculty and students.  There are no license fees for Windows Defender as it is part of the Windows operating system.

Windows XP users will need to install Windows Defender; however, Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems have it pre-installed.
