Eduroam

Eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming wireless access service developed for the international research and education community. Eduroam, which is an encrypted (WPA2) wireless service, allows students, researchers, faculty, and staff from UCR to obtain internet connectivity across campus and when visiting other participating institutions.

SecureW2 Join NOW MultiOS

1. Using the above link, click to set up the UCRWPA and EDUROAM account option.

Note: For more information on Eduroam and to see if it applies to your needs, visit the Eduroam website.

2. On this prompt, make sure that the right operating system was detected, and click "JoinNow".

Note: This examples shows Windows as the operating system.

3. A download will begin that will guide you through the rest of the process.

Once the file has finished downloading, go to your downloads folder and run the application.

4. After a few moments, you'll see the JoinNow window. Click "Next" to continue. ucrwpa step 1
5. Enter your NetID and password and click "Next" to proceed configuring your UCRWPA account. ucrwpa step 2

5a. You will be prompted with an additional screen to fill in your Eduroam credentials. Click "Next" to continue.

Note: Your Eduroam credentials is your netid@ucr.edu (with @ucr.edu) and password.

6. At this point, you might come across an invalid IP address prompt.

IGNORE this and click "CONTINUE" to proceed.

7. If all went well, you should see a screen that says you are now joined.

You do not need further configuration.

Note:If you receive other additional errors or still have problems connecting, you should try disconnecting and reconnecting again to UCRWPA.

Connecting to EDUROAM
1. In Network Locations on your device, find the "eduroam" connection. Check the box for "connect automatically" and click "Connect". eduroam step 1
2. In the Windows Security window, enter netid@ucr.edu (with @ucr.ed) and password, click "OK". eduroam step 2
3. A Windows Security Alert will pop up. Click "Connect", as this is a trusted server. eduroam step 3
