Enabling Softclick

SoftClick is a browser-based option for use with the H-ITT clicker system that allows students to use their personal, web-enabled devices as clickers instead of a dedicated device, which is normally purchased from the UCR Bookstore. SoftClick can be purchased online and costs about $17 per subscription per course.

The Softclick “Session ID” is the two-word passphrase generated on the Acquisition software that’s on the classroom computer, where you have your account:


The passphrase is the same for all the classes for that course in a given quarter. The feature must be enabled on your account in the classroom. You can request to have it enabled when you submit the Classroom Clicker Account Request form, or contact Multimedia if the form was already submitted.
