New Features


Computing & Communications, under the direction of the Graduate Dean and the Grad SIS Steering Committee, is actively developing and deploying new features for Grad SIS. These features are aimed at making the system even more robust, flexible and useful for UCR graduate applicants as well as UCR staff and faculty involved in Graduate Admission. Some of the most significant features developed recently include:

Winter/Spring 2013

  • New Information Indicator - This new feature gives Graduate Staff, Graduate Advisors and the Graduate Division easy access to view files that have been updated with new information from transcripts, letters of recommendation, test scores, comments, and uploaded documents.

Fall/Winter 2012

  • Query Tool v.2 - The Grad SIS Query Tool has been significantly enhanced iwth new features such as summary reporting, enhanced output grids, enhanced filtering controls and additional criteria & columns.
  • Batch Routing - This new feature allows Graduate Staff & Graduate Advisors to route multiple applicants simultaneously within Grad SIS.
  • Dynamic Queues - The new Dynamic Queues allow users to customize the display of their individual applicant queues by adding and removing individual display elements, to conduct cursory applicant file review within the applicant queue, and to output the applicant queue grid directly to Microsoft Excel.


Winter/Spring 2011

  • Ad Hoc Admissions Committee - This feature gives programs the ability to create multiple admissions committees, specified by various criteria, to increase the flexibility.
  • Admissions Committee Minimum Reviewers - The Admissions Committee Minimum Reviewers feature allows programs to specify how many Admissions Committee members must review a file before it is automatically routed to the Graduate Advisor.
  • Interface Redesign - The Application Review interface of Grad SIS has been redesigned to allow for more efficient navigation through the file and easier access to information about the file's review status.

CNC has also created a short tutorial video describing the Winter/Spring 2011 features and their use within the system.
