Office 365 Applications

Core Applications

The "Core Applications" are apps that people are typically familiar with using. These include mail, calendar, people (contacts), Office products, tasks, and OneDrive. These applications are fully supported products. The apps are now offered in a cloud environment, so there is no need to download these applications to a computer. These applications can be utilized in the web or when using your Office client. 



Outlook Mail app in Office 365 has a unified view of your email, calendar, contacts and files. Allows you to go beyond basic email taks to get more done wherever you are with Outlook on your iPad, iPhone, Android tablet and Android Phone



A unified calendar that makes keeping up with tasks and increasing productivity significantly efficient and streamlined. Share your calendar with others in the organization and view other people's availability (based on permissions).

Keep up to date and in touch with all your people in one place. See all of your contacts and choose how you connect with them.

Layout your Data. Reformat and rearrange it and Do your analysis. Do all your favorite excel operations now in any similar and consistent user interface across all your devices.


word o365


Newly designed Word gives you a familiar user interface optimized for use on your mobile devices. Review and edit documents at work, at home, or anywhere in between. 



OneDrive is an integral part of Office 365 and provides place in the cloud where you can store, share, and sync your work files. You can update and share your files from any device with OneDrive. You can even work on Office documents with others at the same time.

Professional Designs, Cinematic motions, in one click. Office 365 PowerPoint allows myriad tools aiming to make the process of creating presentations streamlined like never before. Have Speaker notes, Presenter view displays etc.

A digital Notebook great for capturing, storing, and sharing all kinds of information. Create a notebook and save it to the cloud, Share your notes and collaborate with others. Maximize your OneNote pages, also convert handwritten notes to text.

o365 tasks


A task organizing tool that can be viewed through Outlook and also other apps. Use your Tasks folder to keep track of things that you need to do but don’t necessarily want to put on your calendar. 



Technically, "Groups" is a feature rather than an application. It works with the Office 365 apps you use already so you can collaborate with your teammates when writing documents, creating spreadsheets, working on project plans, scheduling meetings, or sending email. Your Groups will be listed in the Calendar application. This is a great way to collaborate with teams. 

Additional Applications

The following applications are available with Office 365. These applications are new offerings and we are just beginning to explore their use. Below, you will find links to the Microsoft support site for each application as well as a probable use case for each. Note that all features may not be available at this time.

Class Notebook

Class Notebook

The OneNote Class Notebook is an app that helps you set up OneNote in your class. This app will create a class notebook, which includes three types of sub-notebooks: Student Notebooks, Content Library, and Collaboration Space.

Use Case

For instructors or staff members who oversee students, this is a good way to collect information "notebooks", allow materials to be shared with the instructor, or content that can be collaborated on within a "class" environment. Students have access to Office 365 through Microsoft Student Advantage

Delve o365


Helps you discover the information that's likely to be most interesting to you right now - across Office 365. Find information about people - and through people - and help others find you.

 Use Case

For those individuals who like a dashboard view of most popular items, or who have a lot of materials and want a quicker, easier way to search information.



Visit the public newsfeed to stay in tune with conversations among your workmates, and to see other updates about their activities. 

Use Case

For colleagues who need to follow certain topics or people. If you follow a document, you'll get all the updates in your Newsfeed.

Team sites are currently offline. Office 365 users will not be able to create team and organizational sites. Sharepoint's tile is only enabled so that OneDrive remains operational.  For document sharing purposes, OneDrive and the use of Groups is recommended. More information on C&C's Sharepoint offering.

Video o365


Office 365 Video is an intranet website portal where people in your organization can post and view videos. It's a streaming video service. Create a channel, upload videos, and share with the organization.

Use Case

Need to share a more internal video with colleagues, rather than posting it on Youtube? It's a similar service but with viewing restrictions to the organization only.
