Using Smart-Tunnel

What is Smart-Tunnel?

The "Smart-Tunnel" is an extension of the WebVPN and is available for use on PCs running Windows and Macintosh operating systems. This feature allows browsers to access websites through the WebVPN as if the PC was on campus without the need for additional software.

System Requirements

All browsers must have Java or ActiveX installed and enabled to use the Smart-Tunnel

Supported operating systems and browsers include:

  • Windows 7 and higher via Internet Explorer and Firefox.
  • Mac OS X via Safari and Firefox.
Smart-Tunnel Login
  • You will be taken to the Smart-Tunnel Portal page.
  • To enable the Smart-Tunnel feature in Windows click on "Start Smart Tunnel".
  • To enable the Smart-Tunnel feature in Mac OS X click on the associated browser link (Firefox or Safari).
  • To use the Smart-Tunnel feature simply open a new browser tab or window and navigate to the desired website.
Smart-Tunnel Portal
  • To log out of the Smart-Tunnel, click on the "Logout" link or button
  • You can also click on the Smart-Tunnel icon in the desktop taskbar (Windows) or menu bar (Macintosh).
