Managing Permissions


Managing Space Permissions

In this panel, a space administrator can assign user-access control to entire groups or individual users on the system.You can also grant permissions to anonymous users. Anonymous users refers to all users that are not logged in. For information about the individual permissions that can be assigned, please see the permissions guide.

Groups

The following section displays the number of groups that have been assigned permissions to the space. To make further edits:

  1. Click on the "Edit Permissions" button
  2. Under the "grant permission to" text field, you can either type in a group name, or click on the hourglass icon to select from a number of populated groups.
  3. Once finished with making a selection, click on the "Add" button to add the group to the permissions list.
  4. Check the boxes for desired permissions, then click "Save all" at the bottom of the page.

Individual Users

These individual users have access to this space in Confluence - that means they can each view the pages, comments and news items within it.

  1. Below you may already have a list of users who have access to the space. In here, you can modify the level of restriction placed upon users.
  2. Click on the "edit Permissions" button
  3. Under the "grant browse permission to" text field, you can either type in a person's name, or click on the hourglass icon to search by name, NETID, or e-mail address.
  4. Click on the checkbox next to the name and choose "Select User"
  5. Once finished with making a selection, click on the "Add" button to add the person to the permissions list.
  6. Check the boxes for desired permissions, then click "Save all" at the bottom of the page.

Restricted Pages

This report shows all the pages where access is restricted to specific groups or users by page level permissions. By default, there are no pages restricted.
